TBM 700 For Sale
The TBM 700 is a single engine pressurised turboprop originally manufactured by Socata (now Daher) in Tarbes, France. First delivered in 1990, the TBM 700 was developed as a joint venture between Socata and Mooney Aircraft and was designed to offer jet like speed and comfort in a single engine turboprop package. It established a new market category and laid the foundation for the TBM family that continues in production today.
Powered by a single Pratt and Whitney Canada PT6A-64 engine producing 700 shaft horsepower, the TBM 700 cruises at approximately 285 knots with a range of 1,370 nautical miles. The pressurised cabin seats four to six passengers and features a club seating arrangement, air conditioning, and a baggage area at the rear. The aircraft is certified for single pilot operation and features retractable landing gear with a distinctive main gear that retracts aft into the wing.
Variants and Legacy
The TBM 700 was produced in several sub variants. The TBM 700A (1999) introduced minor systems improvements, while the TBM 700C2 (2003) added increased maximum takeoff weight and a higher useful load. The TBM 700 was succeeded by the TBM 850 in 2006, which introduced a more powerful PT6A-66D engine with 850 shaft horsepower, and the family has continued through the TBM 900, 910, 930, and 960 variants.
The TBM 700 competes with the Piper Meridian and Pilatus PC-12, offering higher speed than both at the cost of a smaller cabin than the PC-12.
