Cessna CJ1 For Sale
The Cessna Citation CJ1, designated the Model 525, is a light business jet designed primarily for owner pilots. Introduced in 2000 as an upgrade to the original CitationJet (Model 525), the CJ1 features Williams FJ44-1AP engines with improved performance and a Collins Pro Line 21 avionics suite. Cessna positioned the CJ1 as an accessible first jet for pilots transitioning from high performance singles and light twins.
Powered by two Williams FJ44-1AP engines, each producing 1,900 pounds of thrust, the CJ1 cruises at approximately 389 knots with a range of 1,150 nautical miles. The cabin seats four to five passengers in a club seating arrangement, with a small lavatory at the rear. The aircraft is certified for single pilot operation and features a trailing link main landing gear for smooth landings.
Variants and Development
The CJ1+ (2005) introduced the more powerful FJ44-1AP-21 engine with 1,965 pounds of thrust and Collins Pro Line 21 avionics with enhanced functionality. Both variants share the same basic airframe and systems, with the CJ1+ offering modest improvements in climb rate and payload range performance.
The CJ1 sits as the entry level model in the Citation CJ family. The CJ2 offers a larger cabin and greater range, while the original Citation I represents an earlier generation of entry level Cessna jet with lower acquisition costs.
