Gulfstream G450 For Sale
The Gulfstream G450 is a large cabin, long range business jet that entered service in 2005 as the successor to the Gulfstream GIV-SP. Manufactured in Savannah, Georgia, the G450 incorporated the PlaneView cockpit from the G550 programme and delivered improved range and performance while retaining the proven GIV fuselage cross section. Production continued until 2018, when the G450 was succeeded by the G500.
Powered by two Rolls Royce Tay 611-8C engines, each producing 13,850 pounds of thrust, the G450 cruises at Mach 0.80 with a range of 4,350 nautical miles. The cabin measures 45 feet 1 inch long, 7 feet 4 inches wide, and 6 feet 2 inches tall, typically seating 12 to 16 passengers in three cabin zones with a full galley, crew rest area, and enclosed lavatory.
PlaneView Cockpit and Systems
The G450's defining upgrade over the GIV-SP is the Honeywell PlaneView flight deck, featuring four large format LCD displays, enhanced vision system capability, and a cursor control device. The PlaneView system reduces pilot workload through automated systems monitoring and provides synthetic vision for improved situational awareness in all weather conditions. The G450 also introduced an enhanced wing with increased fuel capacity compared to the GIV-SP.
The G450 competes with the Falcon 900LX and Bombardier Challenger 650 in the large cabin market. For operators requiring intercontinental range, the Gulfstream G550 offers an extended range of 6,750 nautical miles with the same cabin width.
