Learjet 60 For Sale
The Learjet 60 is a midsize business jet manufactured by Bombardier Learjet in Wichita, Kansas. First delivered in 1993, it was developed as an upgraded version of the Learjet 55 with more powerful engines and a modernised cockpit. The Learjet 60XR variant, introduced in 2007, added improved range, a higher maximum takeoff weight, and Collins Pro Line 21 avionics. Production ended in 2012.
Powered by two Pratt and Whitney Canada PW305A engines, each producing 4,600 pounds of thrust, the Learjet 60 cruises at 457 knots with a range of approximately 2,405 nautical miles. The cabin measures 17 feet 7 inches long, 5 feet 11 inches wide, and 5 feet 7 inches tall, seating up to eight passengers. The wider fuselage compared to the Learjet 45 provides a more comfortable cabin for longer flights.
Performance and Market Position
The Learjet 60 combines the speed heritage of the Learjet brand with a cabin wide enough for genuine midsize comfort. Its Pratt and Whitney PW305A engines provide reliable performance with a mature support infrastructure. The aircraft's service ceiling of 51,000 feet and cruise speed approaching Mach 0.81 make it one of the fastest midsize jets available, well suited to time sensitive operations across the United States, Europe, and the Middle East.
The Learjet 60 competes with the Hawker 800XP and Citation Excel in the midsize category. While the Hawker offers a wider cabin, the Learjet 60 delivers higher speed and a wider fuselage than the Learjet 45, making it the preferred choice for operators who need both speed and comfort.
