Cessna Citation V For Sale
The Cessna Citation V, designated the Model 560, is a midsize light business jet that entered service in 1989. It was developed as a higher performance successor to the Citation S/II, combining a longer fuselage with the supercritical swept wing and more powerful engines. The Citation V series proved exceptionally successful, with the platform evolving through the Ultra, Encore, and Encore+ variants that remained in production until 2009.
The original Citation V is powered by two Pratt and Whitney Canada JT15D-5A engines, each producing 2,900 pounds of thrust, delivering a cruise speed of approximately 426 knots and a range of 1,750 nautical miles. The cabin seats seven to eight passengers with a fully enclosed lavatory and a baggage compartment accessible in flight.
Variants and Evolution
The Citation Ultra (1994) replaced the JT15D engines with the more powerful JT15D-5D, improving hot and high performance. The Citation Encore (2000) introduced Pratt and Whitney Canada PW535A engines with FADEC and a Honeywell Primus 1000 avionics suite, significantly improving both performance and cockpit ergonomics. The Encore+ (2007) added increased range and the Garmin G5000 avionics option. Each variant built upon the proven Model 560 airframe while delivering incremental improvements in performance, comfort, and operating efficiency.
The Citation V family bridges the gap between the entry level CJ series and the larger Citation XLS, offering a balance of cabin space, range, and operating costs that appeals to a broad range of operators.
