Cessna Citation II For Sale
The Cessna Citation II, designated the Model 550, is a light business jet that entered service in 1978 as a stretched development of the Citation I. With a fuselage extended by approximately three feet and more powerful engines, the Citation II offered seating for up to eight passengers and improved range. Over 600 Citation II aircraft were delivered, making it one of the most commercially successful early Citations.
Powered by two Pratt and Whitney Canada JT15D-4 engines, each producing 2,500 pounds of thrust, the Citation II cruises at approximately 370 knots with a range of 1,580 nautical miles. The aircraft retains the straight wing configuration of the Citation I, providing excellent short field performance and single pilot capability. The cabin is 16 feet 5 inches long, 4 feet 10 inches wide, and 4 feet 9 inches tall.
Variants
The Citation II evolved into the S/II (Model 550 S/II) in 1984, which introduced a new supercritical wing with modest sweep for improved cruise performance and higher speed. The S/II cruises approximately 20 knots faster than the straight wing Citation II while retaining the same fuselage and systems. The Citation II and S/II were succeeded by the Citation V, which further developed the Model 560 platform with additional performance improvements.
