Falcon 900 For Sale
The Dassault Falcon 900 is a large cabin, long range trijet manufactured by Dassault Aviation in Bordeaux, France. First delivered in 1986, the Falcon 900 was designed as a smaller, more efficient companion to the Falcon 50, retaining the three engine configuration that Dassault favours for its overwater performance and safety advantages. The trijet layout provides the ability to operate from shorter runways and offers an additional margin of safety on long oceanic crossings.
The original Falcon 900 is powered by three Honeywell TFE731-5AR engines, each producing 4,500 pounds of thrust, giving a range of approximately 3,900 nautical miles. The cabin measures 33 feet long, 7 feet 8 inches wide, and 6 feet 1 inch tall, typically seating 12 to 14 passengers in three distinct zones. The wide body cross section is inherited from the larger Falcon 900 series airframe design philosophy.
Variants and Evolution
The Falcon 900 series has been produced in several variants over its long production run. The 900B (1991) introduced improved engines and systems. The 900EX (1996) added Honeywell TFE731-60 engines and increased range to 4,750 nautical miles. The 900DX (2005) offered a reduced range variant with lower acquisition cost. The 900LX (2010) added winglets and further range improvements to 4,750 nautical miles, and the 900LX continues in production today.
The Falcon 900 shares its cabin width with the Falcon 2000, while the Falcon 7X offers a longer cabin and intercontinental range for operators requiring ultra long range capability.
