King Air 250 For Sale

The Beechcraft King Air 250, originally marketed as the King Air B200GT, is the current production variant of the King Air 200 series. Redesignated in 2014, the King Air 250 features composite five blade propellers manufactured by Hartzell, which reduce cabin noise and improve climb performance compared to the four blade metal propellers on earlier B200 models.

Powered by two Pratt and Whitney Canada PT6A-52 engines producing 850 shaft horsepower each, the King Air 250 cruises at approximately 310 knots true airspeed with a range of 1,720 nautical miles. The pressurised cabin seats up to eight passengers and features a flat floor, fully enclosed lavatory, and a refreshment centre. Avionics are based on the Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion integrated flight deck with synthetic vision.

What Sets the 250 Apart

The King Air 250 builds on the proven B200 airframe with several meaningful upgrades. The composite propellers are lighter and generate less vibration, resulting in a noticeably quieter cabin. The Pro Line Fusion avionics replace the older Pro Line 21 system with touchscreen controllers and improved situational awareness displays. The winglets, carried over from the B200GT, improve fuel efficiency and add approximately 30 nautical miles to the range.

Within the King Air family, the 250 offers a modern cockpit and improved comfort over the King Air B200, while the larger King Air 350 provides a stretched cabin for operations requiring additional passenger capacity.

Buying a Pre Owned King Air 250

As a relatively recent model, pre owned King Air 250 aircraft are typically well maintained and equipped with current avionics. Key evaluation points include total airframe hours, engine time remaining before hot section inspection, and whether the aircraft has been on a corporate flight department or charter operation. Charter aircraft tend to accumulate hours more quickly but are maintained to strict commercial standards.

The composite propellers should be inspected for any impact damage or delamination. Interior condition varies depending on the number of passengers carried and the operational role. Aircraft with cargo pod installations offer additional versatility for operators who need to carry oversized baggage or equipment alongside passengers.
